BH3GZU Wouldn't FT8 actually reduce propagation?
I find that each mode and frequency band offers its own unique advantages. For good propagation, SSB is ideal; for poor propagation, FT8 works well. I can also bring a small handheld radio on trips to ask local HAMs for recommendations on where to eat – this doesn't conflict with either activity.
