Basic guidance for beginners on using the FT8 mode on shortwave.
Needed: Type2 to USB cable to connect a shortwave radio to a computer.
Needed: MD6 to 3.5mm audio cable to connect a shortwave radio to a computer.
Required: CP210x USB to UART bridge driver (port driver) from Silicon Labs manufacturer.
Required: Registered accounts for QRZ and LOTW.
Requires: Wsjt-X digital communication software (for receiving and transmitting FT8)
Required: Qlog logging software (Remember to set up quick upload in Lotw)
Communication flow: Open radio, open Qlog, open Wsjt-x (assuming relevant parameters have been configured)
1、Successfully completed communication with Wsjt-X
2. Save logs to Qlog and quickly upload them to LOTW.
3. Synchronize with LOTW log in QRZ logs

The first time you set up a radio station, you may encounter some difficulties and issues, such as:
- Why can't I connect my radio to the Qlog software? (The baud rate needs to match the equipment, and some settings on the radio may need to be disabled)
- Why am I not receiving any signals from WSJT-X? (Have you set up the audio input and output for WSJT-X?)
- Why did my Wsjt-X not respond when I transmitted? (Check if the machine is actually transmitting a signal. If not, modify the SSB transmission mode on the radio.)
- Where are my grid coordinates? (Search for Maidenhead Blackheath grid location, find your own position)
There are many details that I could explain in great detail, but I'm a bit lazy. I hope you will be able to figure things out on your own through exploration.
