I hope this post brings joy and assistance to my fellow colleagues.
I. Introduction
(Referring to a young person) Bao Qing Tian once said: "Some casual remarks helped to clear up my confusion."Therefore, we would like to thank especially @YofoaStudio In response to my previous post:The call sign sticker is also for amateur radio."– This sentence is the original idea for this post."
Based on this example, I propose a more general idea:
1、 "Friend-Tech" designs also include amateur radio equipment.
2. Even "free" reviews can be considered a form of transaction.
— So I didn't post in the wrong forum, and I hope the moderators will forgive me. (Dog head emoji)
Two. Highlight key areas.
1、Free: Indicates that it is free of charge.
I hereby permanently commit to: not accepting any payment, nor receiving any compensation. I will not provide design services, print cards, or sell stamps; nor will I offer services or sell products.
It won't "cover the cost" and handle it for you; not taking on this job also means not relying on this shortcut. There are no explicit or hidden expenses.
2、Editorial comment: It guarantees that something will be said, but does not guarantee that it will sound good.
I won't give you overly emotional and meaningless "hype" reviews like "6," "Awesome," "Toxic University," or "Knife-Sharp Milk."
If you need validation, please post your QSL card at the exhibition booth; that's where you will only receive positive feedback (and not negative reviews).
3、Related to amateur radio: This refers to designs that are not relevant and lack critical analysis, such as invitations.
4、IndividualThis refers to reviews that do not focus on individual works, such as posters or invitations for events organized by your association/club.
III. Evaluation Principles
As mentioned earlier, having spent over a decade immersed in the advertising industry, I have experience working with both clients and vendors, and possess a thorough understanding of workflows and material selection for upstream and downstream units. While I haven't specifically held a graphic design position, my extensive experience has given me a deep understanding of the field.
Furthermore, when evaluating a work, it should be based on specific criteria and principles.
I will strive to provide a rational, objective, and unbiased evaluation, while adhering to the following principles:
1、Does it have...?Expression”。
The author was taught early in their career to "prioritize getting it right, then improving it" – meaning that a design piece might not be perfect, but it must still effectively communicate its intended message.
2、Does it select appropriate "Copywriting / Assets", to express."
What I mean is, you can't just casually use a daytime image and then use it to represent nighttime.
3、Does it select appropriate "Technique", to aid in expression.
Yes, expression itself is more important than the content/materials; and materials are more important than techniques.
4、ComprehensiveofArt / Craftsmanship / FabricationConsiderations.
Building on the previous three points, does it achieve further consistency (in terms of style, color, etc.), or is the apparent contrast deliberately created?
5. OtherBased on upstream and downstream workflows and material specifications. The recommendations.
Some visuals are aesthetically pleasing but not necessarily functional, some designs may look good but aren't ideal for printing, and some paper is suitable for printing but might not be the best for writing.
IV. Gentleman's Agreement
1. Maintain a friendly and respectful demeanor.
Although this is a critical review, as a middle-aged person, I tend to think things through before speaking.
— Even with this explanation, if you still feel offended, then I believe my emotional intelligence is lacking. Please trust that my intention was not to harm the relationship with your station.
2. The first point is irrelevant.
There are 1,000 different interpretations of Shakespeare in the minds of 1,000 people. I don't intend to rank them or make any judgments.
3. There are other mountains beyond, and other people beyond those.
Although I have previously exaggerated my abilities, comparing myself to James or Durant; the reality is that my skills are only at a "neighborhood" level, not a "world-class" level.
Otherwise, I would have gone to the Olympics! What's the point of posting things like this at midnight?
4. Each friend and each work will be evaluated only once.
5. If you're right, then you're right – the author admits defeat gracefully.
Once you have read and agreed with all the "stacked" arguments presented above, and still decide to proceed with your work, please give me a challenge.
Alright, let's get started. Show me what you've got.
