/p = portable
/mm = marine mobile

对于情况2和3，起到区分呼号地区的作用，基于语言和文化习惯，一般会使用 slash , stroke，slant来读出这部分内容，见FCC的考试题：

BI1NIZ For Case 1, the suffix part modifies the current state of the setup. Personally, I think it's possible to directly read out the complete word or phrase from this part, for example:
/m = ponsel
/p = قابل النقل
/mm = κινητό τηλεφωνικό για πλοία

Add one more: - /AM = Aeronautical mobile, a mobile radio for aircraft

Actually, I had discussed this issue in the group a few days ago, and I agree with the original poster's opinion. As long as you can understand it, that's fine, but it's best to have some prior knowledge so that when you encounter foreign amateur radio operators, you at least understand them.

Looking at the FCC exam questions, there isn't an option for "portable" (this doesn't mean that the FCC is authoritative; after all, you have to consider the cultural origins of radio and call signs). However, "portable" now essentially means the same as "/," so I think using "/" is more appropriate.
