FT8CN and QFT8 are worth having for Android phone users. iFTx is worth buying for iOS users.

You can also try FT8AF, which is a derivative of FT8CN and supports FT4/FT2 modes in addition to FT8.

If you're using an Android phone, be aware that some phones will display a message indicating that non-numeric audio input is not supported. In this case, no software will work.😂

I use JTDX because I can customize the prompt colors to my liking. WSJT and its improved versions have a limited number of color options that cannot be changed, but I've forgotten which ones they are.

If you're a beginner, I recommend wsjt-x instead. jtdx hasn't been updated for many years, and wsjt has improved significantly in stability since its update in May of this year. Furthermore, manual operation allows you to better appreciate the fun of using it, while increasing automation makes it more likely to experience electronic erectile dysfunction. Specifically, especially on macOS, older versions of jtdx have poor stability and are prone to crashes, but the latest wsjt-x is very stable.

Theoretically, JTDX has multiple decoding enhancements that should improve performance slightly.
However, it has definitely been a while since the last update. It works fine on Windows, but it's quite cumbersome on macOS.

While WSJT-X Improved has clear advantages, such as supporting FT2 and competition modes, it is an essential tool. However, I still prefer JTDX for the following two reasons: First, it lacks the convenient band switching buttons found in JTDX Improved, which can be a bit cumbersome when operating remotely on my phone. Second, it doesn't have color-coded message tails, making it difficult to distinguish between messages you are trying to receive and other transmissions. This is just my personal experience, but I hope it is helpful.
