At 14:35:02 on December 9th, the "Fuyang No. 2 and Fuyang Dream No. 2" science education satellites (codenamed CAS-5A), launched aboard the Jielong III Long March carrier rocket from an offshore launch platform in the Yellow Sea, successfully separated from the carrier rocket and entered its designated orbit 724 seconds after liftoff.
Within a few minutes, amateur radio enthusiasts in Southeast Asia and Australia received the satellite beacon signal and telemetry signals. Subsequently, the enthusiasts used satellite radio transceivers to conduct two-way radio communication, and the launch of "Fuyang Youth No. 2" and "Youth Dream No. 2" satellites was successfully completed.
The CAS-5A microsatellite, with a size of 6U, carries two high-frequency transponders and two VHF/UHF transponders. Once deployed in orbit, it will deploy a small CAS-5B femtosatellite, which will weigh only 0.5 kg.
The CAS-5A linear repeater array will include HF/HF, HF/UHF, and VHF/UHF bands, with a center frequency of 30 kHz (excluding the HF/UHF repeater at 15 kHz).
The CAS-5A will include CW remote beacon signals for both HF and UHF. The frequency of the high-frequency CW beacon is 29.465 MHz, and the frequency of the ultra-high-frequency remote beacon is 435.57 MHz. Other beacons include a 29.490 MHz HF/HF repeater beacon, a 435.505 MHz HF/UHF repeater beacon, and a 435.540 MHz VHF/UHF repeater beacon. Remote signals will be transmitted at 435.650 MHz. The V/U linear repeater will transmit on 145.820 MHz; the V/U frequency-modulated repeater will transmit on 145.925 MHz. Ground stations will receive from the repeaters at 21.385-21.415 MHz.
