The background is water sports, specifically surfing. The engine is very loud, and sometimes a small group needs a convenient communication method for coordinating their activities. I need a compact, noise-canceling in-ear headphone. From the perspective of application, waterproofing is the top priority (if I can easily modify it to be waterproof, that's fine), followed by noise reduction (I've tried many handheld waterproof radios, but they are too loud even when placed near my ear). The third requirement is that it should be very easy to wear. Communication distance doesn't need to be too far. Do you have any recommendations?
I bought a BaoFeng VU5RMini with a K-head air tube and am planning to modify it for waterproofing. I initially considered the Hensen U3 public safety radio, which seemed like a good fit in terms of size and waterproofness, but it doesn't have headphones, and it's a public safety radio, so it won't work in areas without signal coverage.
