Radio Echo provides tools for CW, FT8, and logging on portable radios.

Over the past few months, I have been developing an Android application for amateur radio users in portable settings:Radio Echo。
The initial intention behind developing it was simple: when operating outdoors or in temporary locations, carrying a computer is often inconvenient. I wanted to be able to accomplish common tasks such as radio connection, CW operation, FT8 transmission and reception, and log management, all using a single Android phone or tablet.
Radio Echo is currently a preview version maintained by an individual. It is not intended to replace established desktop software such as WSJT-X and JTDX, but rather aims to be a lighter, more portable radio operating tool suitable for handheld and mobile devices.

FT8 functionality

- Based on local and LoTW historical records, the callsign is already in use.
- New call sign, new DXCC, and other candidate target prompts.
- Save logs after connection is complete.
- Optional FT8 log automatic upload to LoTW
FT8 remains the primary area for current validation. Its weak signal capabilities, ability to operate in complex multi-signal environments, and continuous automatic communication still lag behind desktop software such as WSJT-X and JTDX. We welcome feedback and logs from users after actual use to help improve it.

Known limitations
- Currently, we only provide the Android 64-bit APK; we do not currently offer versions for iOS or 32-bit systems.
- The IC-705 and FX-4CR are the only radios that have completed formal compatibility acceptance.
- The stability may be affected by different phone manufacturers' Bluetooth and USB permissions, as well as their background management strategies.
- Services such as QRZ, TheSkyMap, and LoTW require users to have their own accounts, certificates, or API keys.
- Further field verification is needed for FT8 weak signal decoding and continuous automatic link establishment.
- Once a LoTW log entry has been accepted by the server, it usually cannot be retracted. Therefore, please carefully verify your entries before uploading.
- Automatic launch must be operated by users who have the necessary qualifications and are operating under regulatory supervision.
