Yesterday, I was working on the IARU HF band and heard a lot of activity calling "TEST" in the 14 MHz CW frequency. Upon closer listening, it turned out to be BH5HIE, with a continuous string of 19 characters.
After the race, I went to... Super Check (Partial) The database retrieved the list of call signs and sorted them based on consecutive digits (dits).
BH5HIE(19)
BH5EHR(18)
BH5HFK(18)
WB5SHV(18)
BH5EIJ(16)
BH5HGI(16)
BH5HZG(16)
DH5IS(16)
S55VM(16)
YD6HHH(16)
Our BH5HIE won with 19 consecutive dits, while BH5EHR and BH5HFK tied for second place with 18 consecutive dits, and WB5SHV came in third.
Obviously, the SCP call sign database does not contain all HAM call signs. Common call sign theoretical limits (BH5HHH, HS5HHH, 24 dits) have also not yet appeared. So, the question arises: are there any currently used call signs with more than 19 dits?
