Please note: The following content represents purely personal opinions and may contain errors. I welcome any corrections.
Important Note: To enable external access, your network must have a public IPv4 address. The RS-BA1 software currently does not support IPv6 addresses or domain name resolution.
I. Radio End Settings
Hardware preparation: IC-7300MK2 operating normally, LAN interface connected to a router via Ethernet cable.
(Poor-quality switches or routers, as well as network cables with poor shielding performance, can cause interference for the radio. It is recommended to compare the effects before and after connecting, and to use shielded network cables if possible.)
Software preparation:
1. Open the radio settings menu (press MENU → page 2 → SET), and open the Network options (settings menu, pages 2/3).
2. Network Configuration
For remote control, it's best to have a fixed local network IP address for the 7300mk2 so that subsequent operations can be performed. Here are two scenarios:
I) Use DHCP and enable static IP assignment on the router.
Radio enables DHCP:
Set the name that will be displayed on your local network (Network Name).
Log in to the router's administration interface (using Xiaomi Router as an example). Find the static IP address assignment feature (Xiaomi Router: Common Settings → Local Network Settings → Static DHCP IP Assignment).
Add a rule for the 7300MK2, assigning it an unused address (e.g., 192.168.10.73).
(Note: If you cannot find the recently set network name, go to the radio settings menu and open "Others → information" to record the MAC address. Then, return to the assignment page and search by MAC address.)
After completing the setup, restart the radio and go to the Network interface. You should see your own IP address listed under the DHCP options. Verify that it is correct, and this step completes the configuration.
II) Using a static radio address
First, confirm the router's subnet (the default subnet is usually printed on a sticker on the back of the router). For example: 192.168.10.1
Access the Network Settings menu.
IP Address: Change to an unused address (note: must be within the same subnet as your router) Example: 192.168.10.73
Default Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: Enter the router's address, for example: 192.168.10.1
Please enter the primary and secondary DNS servers as needed, such as 114.114.114.114 and 8.8.8.4, etc.
Once you've confirmed that the settings are correct, log in to the router's administration interface. If you can find the device information and documentation, it is likely that there are no problems.
3. Remote Configuration
Enter the settings menu（SET）→Network→Scroll to the bottom and select Remote Settings (远程设置)
Open Network Control.
Power OFF Setting (for Remote Control)
Remote control shutdown setting. This option can be set as needed:
* Only Shutdown: The radio will shut down directly after the remote software closes the control.
* Standby/Shutdown: A pop-up window will appear after the remote software closes, allowing you to choose between standby or shutdown (in standby mode, the radio's POWER button light will flash orange).
The Control Port, Serial Port, and Audio Port generally do not need to be changed (with default values of 50001-50003).
For most households, businesses, and studios, FTTH remains the standard, so ADSL/CATV is becoming obsolete.
Enter Network User 1
To configure the username (Network User 1 ID) and password (Network User 1 Password), and to enable Network User 1 Administrator privileges.
User 2 can configure settings on demand.
At this point, all settings on the 7300MK2 device have been completed.
II. Network-side settings (If you need to access the internet, please configure it. If you are accessing within a local network, you can skip this step)
Open the router's administration interface (using Lucky as an example), and enter the port forwarding settings.
Add the following three rules:
* External port (listening port): 50001, 50002, 50003 (can be changed as needed if occupied)
* Enable automatic firewall port forwarding (some routers require manual configuration of UDP ports in the firewall)
* Internal address (destination address): 7300mk2 address
* Internal port (destination port): 50001, 50002, 50003
Select UDP4 for forwarding type.（UDP）For example, like this:
With this, the network-side configuration is complete.
III. Remote Control End Settings
Download and install the ICOM RS-BA1 software and update it to the latest version.
Open the ICOM Remote Utility, disable the setup wizard, and select "Server List – Add" to add a service.
If you need to access the internet, please enter your router's public IP address in the "Server Address" field. If you only need to use it within a local network, enter the radio's local IP address (as shown in the example: 192.168.10.73), and the port defaults to 50001; you don't need to change it (if the previous external port has been changed, please fill in the corresponding port on the internal network, which is 50001). Click "Next" to complete.
Enter the network username and password as set in Section 1.3 of this document, then click "Next".
If you see this screen, it means that at least one of the following has been entered incorrectly: IP address, username, or password.
If this screen appears directly, it indicates that the connection has been successful. You can then assign a name to the remote radio and click "Finish" when done.
Then, this will display "Connected" if it's connected; otherwise, first click on the blue radio station with the left mouse button and then press the connect button in the bottom right corner.
Once completed, proceed to the Radio List.
Tune to Blue Radio, then click Settings in the lower-left corner.
All other settings remain unchanged. In the Device Settings section, simply select an available port from the list of Virtual COM Ports and click OK.
Press the "Blue Radio" button again, and click "Connect" in the lower-left corner.
Once completed, it will display the virtual port number, and additional virtual audio devices will appear in the system for transmitting radio audio.
The software displays "Connected", indicating that the settings for Remote Utility have been completed successfully. At this point, do not close Remote Utility.
Open the RS-BA1 software.
First, click File → Connect OFF to disconnect and disable any error messages.
Click on "Connect" in the Options section.
Select Model: IC-7300MK2, Connection: LAN, Remote Utility: The radio name set in the recently configured Remote Utility, then click Search.
The following CI-V information will be automatically populated. Confirm that the port is the newly configured virtual port, then click OK to exit.
Click Connect
This way, you can connect to your 7300MK2 radio!
When connecting remotely next time, first open the Remote Utility to connect to the radio, and then turn on the RS-BA1 to enable control, and you will be able to connect.
