新手小白想采购短波台子。目前打算入手的是ft891和ft710。主要考虑性价比和性能。但是891不带自动天调，710带自动天调。问下各位大佬，891+天调好，还是一步到位上710好？

太笼统了，你要怎么用，SSB多还是FT8，固定用还是野外，天馈系统呢？电磁环境呢？极限预算呢？

天调不是很必要，891两个陶瓷功放，很皮实。用891的驻波表还是挺容易调的，或者搞个nanovna。天调这玩意对于收发效果没有帮助的，只是为了强行匹配天线。

IL-1 I need an SSB and FT8 antenna, sometimes also a CW antenna. I have a lot of antennas for field use, but I can also set one up at home. Most of the time, I'll be using it in the field. If portability isn't a concern, then a heavier, larger antenna is fine. I need an antenna with a GP (ground plane) feed, and I want to have an 8-element Yagi, as well as a dipole. After all, if you're into amateur radio, you need at least one type of antenna. As for budget, I'll choose the best performance and quality, but if the performance and quality are similar, I'll choose the cheaper option. Also, I need to consider value for money. Since I'm a male who enjoys ham radio, I don't need a fancy bag; as long as it looks good, the price doesn't matter. I also need to consider performance parameters, which is why I'm asking this question.

BI9DFE Because 710 is quite special, I need to ask more questions. If you play FT8 frequently, don't use FT710; also, avoid using it for weak signal modes. And if you're using FT710 for contesting and managing to "knock out" the other station, it's not a common occurrence.

A variable antenna isn't strictly necessary; the two ceramic amplifiers, part number 891, are quite robust. It's relatively easy to tune the 891's bandpass filter, or you could use a nanovna instead. A variable antenna doesn't actually improve reception or transmission performance; it's simply used to force a match with the antenna.

While a good antenna isn't essential, I strongly recommend the 891. Otherwise, using a 710 for FT8 will be very difficult and frustrating; my 891 is robust and easy to build, while my neighbor's 710 only manages 25W with FT8.
