I recently purchased a relatively rare AT160, but according to its manual, it can only be used with the IC725, 726, 728, and 729 series of radios. If the manual doesn't list a radio as compatible, then it won't work. Therefore, my 7100 is not compatible. Yesterday, I had an idea to look up the pin definitions for the ACC 7-pin connector on the 725 and 728 radios. I found the corresponding function on the 13-pin ACC connector of the 7100 and connected it with DuPont cable. The AT160 is now working, and I can also achieve automatic tuning after switching bands. However, the tuning range is very small, and there is no change in the standing wave. After searching online, I found a post from 2001 where someone used the same method to successfully match the IC706MKII. I would like to ask the experts: what other aspects can I adjust in this situation?
