Second, since neither of those has ham approval, why not consider the more professional Henaida PD780? The PD780 seems to have a range of less than 800 (excluding the PD700S), and the PD780G or PD980 or HP780 can also use digital APRS, and they can display the distance and bearing to the speaker (e.g., you are 40 degrees east-north of me, 500 kilometers away...). They also have AI noise reduction, regional division, audio equalizer, feedback prevention of howling, etc.
