Hello everyone, I'm just checking to see if anyone else is here. This might be a bit of a long one.
Given that I recently made one by hand...6-meter radio segment(Self-named: HM50S), I want to further reduce costs and complexity, create a production-ready version, and support common CW+USB languages/data formats. This would allow enthusiasts to revive activity on the 6m band, which has been relatively inactive. I have already developed some low-cost hardware solutions, but they still need additional verification. The idea is: since I've created this for myself, with this technology, why not make it available to more A-class enthusiasts so they can also enjoy 6m?I also don't want to be a capitalist exploiting the market."It's all about having a good strategy, but how can I make money just by doing that? Even if I reach the top, it wouldn't be as profitable as getting a high-paying job."💰Just a moderate amount is sufficient.
This project will continue to use the STM32 microcontroller (which is my most familiar single-board computer; I experimented with Arduino and ESP32 when I was starting out, but I've forgotten all about them), and my previous radio's GUI used the LVGL open-source graphics library. The LVGL code was written and modified randomly using ChatGPT, and I don't understand its various functions; everything is done by AI. The current interface is still a mess, and frankly, I'm too lazy to fix it. Anyway, writing software firmware has always been a headache for me.
Other experienced developers online have released open-source radios with displays, and their GUIs are very attractive. I don't know what graphics libraries they use, so I plan to learn from them.
However, ultimately, I developed this project alone, and my technical skills have a limit. This project isn't particularly high-tech, but even if I were to do it alone, it wouldn't be impossible. But even then, I don't want to do it alone anymore.
I don't have many people around with shared interests, my communication skills aren't great, and I don't really have any close friends. Furthermore, the hobby of amateur radio is quite niche.
I'm now looking to connect with like-minded individuals online, so we can explore and develop together – I think it would be a lot of fun.😋This would allow me to meet more people and access more resources, expanding my network. I could also learn a lot of technical skills from experts, perhaps even gaining access to advanced equipment (currently, the most expensive RF instrument in my home is a VNA and TINYSA costing less than $300). Without the initial anxiety about testing, I would have had to go to multiple test centers to use their super-powerful 26.5 GHz broadband spectrum analyzers to test my homemade device.
Currently, I haven't started university yet, but it will soon. In the future, I plan to study electronics engineering and work in this field. I have no prior work experience. I hope to gain more insights into society and do something different before starting my studies.
