I saw a post on HalloCQ on November 7th about the 710 wideband project (https://www.hellocq.net/forum/simple/?t376088.html), and the next day, I started operating it, and it was successful.
Regarding the statement in the title, "pointless tinkering"... I purchased a domestic version (国行), and all functions that are available on the international version are also available. There's no need to do anything unnecessary. However, if there are functions that cannot be used, then no amount of tinkering will make them work. This is because the Japanese version (日版) cannot expand the frequency range, leading to "pointless tinkering."
I've documented the process, and I've pasted it directly here (basically because I didn't want to type it out). The writing is a bit messy, so please forgive me.
