One frustrating aspect of using two-way radios for emergencies is that you may need different chargers depending on the manufacturer and even different models from the same manufacturer.
Regarding Type-C, when I bought the BRS8R from Bose, I found that the Type-C charging port was no longer working. I'm not sure why it won't charge, but I can still use a power adapter to force it to charge. This makes me think that Type-C might not be as reliable as I thought.
I completely agree with what the user said about buying either a simple or business-oriented walkie-talkie. Ideally, it should only have "on/off" functionality and pre-set channels. If there's an amateur radio available, it should also have channel mode plus stickers to indicate the intended use of each channel (the stickers need to be treated with transparent tape to make them waterproof).
