Recently, I have been researching and experimenting with shortwave amplifiers. After validating the PA2500 amplifier controller, I released amplifiers and low-pass driver boards suitable for Kenwood TMK707, TRC707, ICOM M710, and M700Pro shortwave radios.
Most of these shortwave radio stations are 150W, and the Kenwood 707, when adjusted and amplified, can reach a maximum of 300W. This kit was developed specifically for modifying shortwave amplifiers to achieve low-pass automatic tracking, manual/automatic control, and real-time standing wave power monitoring functionality.
The controller can be used with Yaesu, ICOM, Xiegu, and Codan models, using a binary system.(BCD)Protocols and level signals(ACC)The shortwave radio achieves coordinated control, while still allowing manual low-pass filtering via the band switch for independent or automatic operation. The LCD screen provides real-time status feedback, including amplifier output power and standing wave. Using a 328p microcontroller to control the entire circuit allows for lossless replacement and installation; theoretically, no soldering is required to install the controller. This creates a portable 150W-300W mini amplifier.
