When using a desktop computer with wsjt-x and jtdx to communicate via FT8, I frequently encounter the issue of the software failing to find the radio. I have tried connecting the radio's ground terminal to the chassis of the computer, ensuring that the computer can control the radio. However, when the radio is transmitting, the direct wired connection between the computer and the radio is interrupted, along with the CAT disconnecting, causing the software to stop sending and display an error message.
I also tried using a Raspberry Pi 5 to control the radio, in which case wsjtx was used for control. However, when connecting the ACC and CAT lines, the signal strength on the radio showed very strangely, and even with manual tuning, it was difficult to adjust. But the same problem of disconnecting the CAT line still occurred during transmission, so I could only listen passively.
I suspect that interference during transmission interfered with the USB.😞I don't know how to solve this problem yet. I also don't know where it should be grounded.
Currently, I can only use the FT8CN software on my phone to communicate, which is a bit inconvenient. Have any other operators encountered similar problems? How did you resolve them?
