After reading some relevant books and materials, I'm still a bit unclear. I was wondering if anyone could offer some guidance.
When a dipole connection results in an unbalanced output, the half connected to the feed line and the center of the feed line are not directly connected. Does the current flowing through this path rely entirely on electromagnetic induction?
Bale will induce an opposing current or voltage to suppress common-mode currents from entering the shield of the feed line. But where does the energy of these common-mode currents go during this process? Does it get reflected back to the antenna for retransmission, stored in the electromagnetic field within Bale, or converted into heat?
I initially thought that the principle of "sky tuning" was similar to that of a variable capacitor, where it transformed the signal passing through to match the antenna. However, I later learned that some people believe that "sky tuning" works by consuming reflected power internally to prevent damage to equipment. Which is actually the case? Or are both situations true?
I noticed that some foreign-made Baren units have two magnetic coil loops around the core. Does this separate the part that suppresses common-mode current from the voltage conversion part? If so, could multiple variable transformer coil configurations be used to adjust the Baren's impedance ratio?
