这个windows平板+RSP1A方案就是我想到的平替孔雀石收音机方案。毕竟孔雀石收音机的彩屏干扰造成的干扰及假信号一言难尽。windows平板+RSP1A方案结合SDR切换器就可以给FT-891加上更好看的动态频谱了。只是选择哪个widows平板比较合适有待探讨。surface pro5焊死了内存和硬盘，没有拆修经验的听说拆开显示屏必坏。surface pro4是闪频严重。surface pro6的显卡与surface pro5一样是620，反而surface pro5 i7版本的显卡640更好，就是海鲜市场量少，且大多数电池健康度不行，上到surface pro7可能性价比不高。不知道是否有人尝试过小米5平板改windows系统是否可以使用RSP1A配套软件。

I found a Windows Surface tablet at the seafood market. According to the requirements for compatible software that I found on my friend's station, Haro CQ, using a Surface Pro 3 might only be able to operate in a frequency range of 2 MHz, and increasing it further would cause interference.

The Surface Pro 3 i5 has a dual-core, 4-thread CPU with a frequency of 1.9-2.9GHz. It also features Intel® HD Graphics 4400 and integrated graphics. I tried to purchase a Surface Pro 5 i7 version with a cooling fan, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD. The total weight of the tablet alone is approximately 782g, plus the keyboard weighs 310g, for a total of about 1100g. The i7-6650U has dual cores with a frequency of 2.5-4.0GHz and integrated Intel® Iris® Plus Graphics 640. I estimate that the RSP1A will not experience performance issues due to its 10MHz dynamic frequency range.

I found a Surface Pro 5 i7 version with only 7% battery degradation at the seafood market for 600 yuan. I immediately placed an order and paid, but the tablet was already being shipped when the seller stopped it midway. The seller was acting strangely, claiming that they had sent the wrong package and asking me to return it. I told them that this wouldn't affect their ability to resend the tablet, but they didn't respond for several days and then disappeared. After a few days, I reluctantly requested a refund. I believe the seller probably felt that the price I paid was too low and decided to cancel the order.

On the same day that the courier returned the item to the seller, he decisively and proactively blocked me. I was unable to send him any messages. When I looked at his store again, he had re-listed the Surface Pro 5 i7 version, with a price of around 750 yuan, but shortly afterward, he removed it himself. I don't understand what kind of scheme this is. There are very few Surface Pro 5 i7 versions available, and they are also expensive. So, I started looking for the Surface Pro 5 i5 version (without fans). The Intel® Iris® Plus Graphics 620 on the i5-7300U has a clock speed of 2.6-3.5GHz, and its integrated graphics performance is said to be half that of the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (640).

I bought a Surface Pro 5 LET (with SIM card slot) i5 version with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for 500 yuan. The touchscreen is faulty, the display has no cracks, it comes with the original keyboard, charger, and laptop bag, and the battery health is at 8%. This computer runs Windows 10 version 25. I heard that updating the Surface Pro's operating system consumes a lot of resources. After booting up and installing the RSP1A software, I was able to reduce the usage to 75% within about 20 minutes. I estimate that with full charge, it can be used for 3-4 hours under light use. The RSP1A works smoothly on 2M dynamic spectrum, but has some issues on 10M, and it's best at 7M. CPU usage is at 25%, and RAM usage is 4.5-5.1GB. I suspect that the GPU might be the cause of the lag. Unfortunately, I didn't buy the Surface Pro 5 i7 version.

The single-band reception performance using the 5-meter long soft antenna (mounted at a height of 1.5-0.5 meters) from Desheng is similar to that of the original Desheng PL330's built-in rod antenna. Summary: This Surface Pro 5 LET i5 7300 8+256 using Windows 10 version 25 consumes a lot of power, and the RSP1A dynamic spectrum reaches a maximum of 6M.

arwoon It's not possible to use it because there are no drivers. The Windows 11 on the Xiaomi Pad 5 is based on the ARM architecture, and most drivers won't work. Therefore, not only SDR doesn't work, but many PL2303 or CH340-based communication lines also don't work.

RTL-SDR works because it supports the WinUSB driver, which has drivers for ARM architecture systems. Similarly, shortwave radios like the 891, 7300, and G90N can be used with Xiaomi tablets running Windows 11 to operate FT8, due to the CP210x serial chip having an ARM architecture driver. However, these drivers are not universally compatible and are somewhat niche; retailers selling the devices may not have them, so you might need to find them yourself.

To be portable and convenient for outings, I purchased a Surface Pro 7. The battery life is quite poor, lasting only about 2 hours before draining completely (significant power consumption, considering replacing the battery). However, I still think the Surface Pro 7 is a good choice because it has both a C port and an A port, making it easy to connect with a simplex radio without worrying about compatibility. The built-in stand is also very convenient; I can simply attach it to the steering wheel and it won't slip off. Finally, the software compatibility is also decent, allowing for smooth operation with FT8, N1MM, and other simplex modes (even older MOTO models can be used).
The RSP1A has not been tested yet; I plan to purchase one and try it out sometime in the future.

Here's an update on my experience using a Surface Pro 5 with an i5-7300U processor, focusing primarily on battery mode adjustments. My previous analysis was conducted under the "balanced" power mode.
The tests described below are for the scenario where only SDRuno is installed after a system reinstallation (Windows 10 version 22H2).
Power saving mode: Dynamic spectrum 3-4MHz, smooth operation. CPU usage: 37-50% at 1.3-2.0GHz, memory usage: 3.9-4.3GB, GPU usage: 10-12%, screen brightness adjustment occasionally uses 20%.
Balance Mode: Dynamic Spectrum 6M - Smooth. CPU usage: 26-40% (1.6-2.0GHz), Memory usage: 3.9-4.3GB, GPU usage: 12-14%, Screen brightness adjustment occasionally uses 20%.
Best performance: Dynamic Spectrum 10M is smooth. CPU usage is 37-50% at 3.5GHz, memory usage is 3.9-4.3GB, GPU usage is 12-14%, and screen brightness adjustment occasionally causes a 20% increase in usage.
This has resolved my confusion. The CPU frequency reached 3.5GHz, but the issue of stuttering when running a single program with a 10MHz spectrum on dual cores shouldn't have occurred. It turned out that the problem was caused by the battery settings and the resulting CPU performance scheduling issues. The previous stuttering was not due to the GPU. The GPU usage was only 10%-12%, which is very low. Currently, I think a CPU frequency of 2GHz or higher is sufficient for dual cores, although 3.5GHz would be better. The corresponding integrated GPU should not be an issue. The main limitation is the memory usage caused by running Windows 10, which is 3.9-4.3GB. This means that a tablet with 4GB of RAM is likely to have difficulty running.
Lessons learned from me:
Surface Pro 3, Surface Pro 5, and other brands of laptops that meet the following criteria should be suitable choices: at least 4GB of RAM and good battery health, as long as they are not overly picky. Friend's comment mentioned the Surface Pro 3 i5 CPU and a 2M bandwidth, which was barely sufficient. When I increased the bandwidth further, the audio started to cut out intermittently, with pauses between each sound. I suspect this is due to a setting related to battery performance; he may have set it to power-saving mode, or possibly set the RF GAIN (radio frequency gain) to its maximum value.
I hope to see experiences shared by individuals who have Surface Pro 3 and other tablets, particularly those from HAM (Ham Radio).
