BD4WCL I know that SSB power can fluctuate, but my IC-705's average power is around 2-3 watts, which seems normal. (Normal speaking volume, MIC GAIN at 70, with sub-harmonic and FM/AM enabled, power output is around 8-9 watts)
BD4WCL Sunset If I'm just talking normally, it's around two to three watts. But if I blow a whistle, the peak can reach up to 8.
BH9DWE If FM is working normally, it indicates that there are no basic problems. If you're still not completely confident, you can try transmitting FT8 signals with a constant envelope to see if they work.
FengziLeo I have this problem too.🤐🤐The FM and FT8 power levels are both normal, and the total output can reach 40W. However, as soon as SSB is activated, the total output drops significantly. I suspect it might be due to a problem with the microphone?
BG2EFX If you want to see how much current is used to tune an FM radio... If you simply want to see how much SSB can transmit, just keep shouting!

BI1RRE Adjust the MIC gain to 50%, enable voice compression with a setting of 3 or higher, and while speaking after pressing PTT, observe the ALC.
BD4WCL BI1RRE I adjusted it according to the instructions, so I don't think there should be a problem. When I speak loudly, I can get it up to 5 to 6 watts.
BG5BNW The SSB audio and power are related. If there's no audio, your SSB power will be very low. You can use CW, FSK, or FM modes to test the power in a single test.
BI1XJT I also don't fully understand, but I can intuitively feel that when my 891 is held close to my mouth and spoken at a slightly further distance, there will be a significant difference in power. If I use voice compression, it will sound much better. Even a small amount of output power makes a big difference.
