If the main transmitter has a direct feed capability, you could also try a half-wave configuration: extend all of the 5.6m whip antenna, and connect it to a 49:1 Unun (the "balun" for the direct feed). In this configuration, the resonant point should be around 25 MHz, but the bandwidth is very wide, with SWR below 3 at 21MHz, 24MHz, and 28MHz. When fully extended, it operates at 24MHz; when retracted, it operates at 28MHz. If you have a tuner, you can use both configurations.
It can provide a lower launch angle than 1/4 GP, allowing for transmission of over 1000 meters with a single shot, and offers higher gain. Furthermore, it doesn't require a ground net; it simply needs to be fixed in place on the ground or anywhere else.
