This release resolves the "trench" artifacts that appeared in the statistical charts and also makes
The client list, suitable for use on busy servers: it is now paginated and returned in a
a more stable arrangement rather than a single, randomly-ordered collection.
📈 Statistics: Sampling with a window average
The chart samples were used to capture the instantaneous rate over a period of 1 second at each point.
per-minute tick – if that particular second happened to be quiet, the chart
dropped to zero, even though traffic during that minute was normal. Each sample is
Now, the average rate over the whole window (cumulative counter difference)
(divided by elapsed time), resulting in smooth curves that accurately represent real
Throughput. Applies to all four uplink series (packets/bytes, RX/TX); values
May now be expressed as a fraction (e.g., 12.4 packets per second).
👥 Client list: Pagination and stable sorting
New endpoint GET /api/clients:
| Parameter | Default | Notes |
page | 1 | Ensured to be within the valid range (no blank pages when clients disconnect). |
page_size | 20 | Maximum of 500 |
sort | uptime | id, port, verified, addr, uptime, last, last_tx, software, filter, packet_rx, packet_tx, bytes_rx, bytes_tx, out_q, msg_rcpts |
order | asc | asc or desc |
Response: { total, page, page_size, clients: [...] }.
The ordering process is completely deterministic – ties are always resolved based on (ID, address, port).
Therefore, the rows maintain their positions even after refreshing. The default order (longest
(connected first) adds new connections at the end instead of rearranging them.
update the entire table every 3 seconds.
🖥Web User Interface
- The client table is paginated (20/50/100/200 per page), allowing for the display of thousands of records.
The "rows" functionality no longer causes the page to freeze.
- Click on column headings to sort data on the server; sorting will reset to the first page.
- The current page automatically refreshes every 3 seconds, with a safeguard in place to prevent...
A slow response cannot override a newer page.
- The pagination controls are localized in all 11 UI languages.
⚠️ Breaking change
GET /api/status No longer includes the clients array. Migrate consumers
to GET /api/clients (with page numbers); the number of online clients is still available
as totals.clientsThis also eliminates the overhead associated with serializing the entire
Client list in every status poll.
