QO-100: Expedition to Triang Mountain in Debao County, Baise, Guangxi Province, completed.
The altitude is 1283 meters, and the road is very steep with many sharp turns and hairpin bends. The car was constantly slipping while climbing, which put a lot of strain on my Chery QQ.
I served as a driver and assisted with platform operation, under the supervision of... @bg7xwf The teacher performs installation, equipment debugging, and other operations.
The weather was great on the first day, but the two of us searched for half a day without finding the beacon. After a while, we realized that it was due to the influence of the magnetic needle, which had not aligned properly. We even thought we couldn't see any satellites. When we heard the unique sound of the beacon, Master Liao was so excited that he seemed like a child of two hundred pounds.
When CQ signals started coming in, the responses from foreign stations flooded in like a tide, making all the hard work worthwhile.
The next day was very foggy, and, in addition, the timing wasn't ideal (it was still early morning in Europe), so there were no other people around, which led to an early termination.
Due to a lack of experience in handling SSB pile-ups, the effectiveness of SSB communication during this expedition was not optimal. Therefore, it is important to focus on training to improve my ability to manage pile-ups and achieve better DX results.
After the event, we went to the city center of Baise and had a dinner with the BA7QT team. We also visited the incredibly impressive B7Q base, and it was clear that the teams who were able to obtain the shortwave frequency really had exceptional capabilities.
