The ICOM IC820 is a U/V full-mode transceiver released by ICOM in the late 1990s.
Its key features include the classic ICOM LCD screen (now discontinued) and the classic onboard transmit button.
This device is at least thirty years old, and the electrolytic capacitor has reached its limit. Starting around 20 years ago, nearly 100% of the problems associated with this device are caused by leakage from the electrolytic capacitor.
This includes the +5V DC-DC circuit portion of the device, which causes errors in the digital tracker, resulting in UHF without power.
