1. AMSAT Workshop and Related Updates
Approximately 35 members of the AMSAT organization attended the 43rd annual AMSAT Space Symposium and Annual General Meeting on October 17th and 18th, along with over 50 guests who watched a live stream online.

Two. Significant changes in magnetic field
Using magnetic field measurements from the European Space Agency's Swarm satellite constellation over the past 11 years, scientists have found that the weak region in Earth's magnetic field over the South Atlantic (known as the South Atlantic Anomaly) has expanded to cover nearly half the area of Europe since 2014.
Currently, the anomalous conditions in the South Atlantic pose a serious challenge to space security, as satellites passing through this region are exposed to higher levels of incident radiation. This could lead to malfunctions or damage to critical hardware, and even complete system failures.
The magnetic field over Siberia increased, while the magnetic field over Canada decreased. The area covered by Canada shrank by 0.65% of the Earth's surface, almost equivalent to the area of India, while the area covered by Siberia shrank by 0.42%, which is equivalent to the area of Greenland.
This transition is caused by complex processes occurring in the Earth's ionospheric core, which are related to the recent movement of the Arctic towards Siberia. This transition is important for navigation, as it is affected by the magnetic fields in these two strong magnetic field regions.
