I spent a year in the capital, and I would recommend using frequency 438500 directly; it's much more active than in other areas.
There are many ham radio operators who enjoy FM DX (long-distance communication), and it's interesting to be able to contact stations in Zone 1, covering Zones 2, 6, 3, and 4 (Liaoning, Henan, Shandong, Hebei).
