Because I couldn't obtain my temporary call sign before the exhibition, I could only use it back in China. After returning to China, I immediately tried it out, otherwise I wouldn't have had a chance to use it when I got home (UHF is not available in Zhejiang).



During testing, the standing wave pattern was not prominent, and actual measurements showed no communication issues. According to the manual, if this antenna is used as a fixed mount, a ground network needs to be added. The principle of use for mobile applications is the same as that of handheld antennas.



On the way home, I was curious about what kind of structure it was. I took it apart to see, and it turned out to be just a drink bottle. After talking with the author, he said that this design has an effect almost equivalent to a quarter-wave whip antenna. It seems to be an interesting alternative handheld antenna. In addition, this antenna can also be modified into 1.2GHz or 144MHz antennas by simply changing the top container structure or adjusting the gasket, screws, or insulating paint on the container surface. The author's instructions include a method for converting it into a V-shaped antenna, which only requires replacing the top container with three beer cans.
