When the CW signal is consistently loud, it indicates that one-way communication with a single band is possible. You can then try to initiate a call on a specific frequency.
I'm going to teach you a clever trick: try calling from the range of 50.300-50.313, provided that the propagation conditions allow it. This will help many players using FT8 to quickly detect your signal. To further improve your chances of being heard, you can also spot yourself. The rest is just about continuously calling and waiting.
In the diagram above, I used CW on 50.150 because that day there was a Japanese station transmitting on 50.154, and there was also some activity nearby. Seeing that I couldn't get through, I ended up opening a sideband transmission. Because someone else was operating nearby, it was easy for them to detect my signal. I also transmitted a self-spot.
