Miles Awesome! So, I ask you: Is Ye's departure a pursuit of the wind, or a refusal by the tree to hold him back? (Dog Head)
Miles However, to be serious, all he needs to do is offer you an alternative; why does he insist on trying to outdo you and discuss quality/design strength issues?
BI7ALG Miles The after-sales service is fine, but I'm wondering if there might be a problem with my setup method.
F0rens1c BI7ALG It should be fine during the day, but it's not guaranteed in the morning and evening. The tripod has three legs, and you need to pull the guy ropes in at least three directions. If you only use two opposite V-shaped guy ropes, one direction will definitely make it unstable and prone to tipping over... Also, how can you be sure that a (half) fixed stand is safe? If no one is there to watch it, just put it away.
BI7ALG F0rens1c I used four wires, arranged in pairs that were symmetrical. If the base wasn't loose, there wouldn't be any issues with securing them.
Liridice He said you shouldn't pull the wind rope across the support, and you told him that his antenna base should be more secure. I think both of you are right, so have him replace it for you, and then you can buy three wind ropes to securely fix the lamp stand. So, "hot pot" is just a name they gave to their fan base?
BI7ALG Liridice A friend of mine had set it up in a similar way, so I didn't think there would be any problems. Also, the base seems to rely entirely on adhesive and doesn't appear to have any screws for fixing it.
Liridice BI7ALG It definitely doesn't seem very sturdy, but I don't recommend using retractable antennas that are hollow and have thin walls. The threaded part of the handle and the connecting point between the handle and the pull-out section (the "base" of the handle) are also not designed to withstand stress; for example, many expensive 5-meter handles emphasize their use of larger copper bases, which makes it clear that this area is prone to breakage.
BI7ALG Liridice This is a coaxial cable antenna with a copper base, where the antenna itself is not subjected to any force due to its connection with the base of the Balun.
Moonlight I believe this possibility exists: The lamp was pulled down, and the pull-rod struck the ground or the wall, causing the copper cap to be subjected to force and detach. If you want to set it up permanently, it's best not to use a lamp stand. Instead, try using expansion bolts (refer to M's shortwave base). BI7ALG Moonlight The rope was fixed in place, with both ends remaining at their original positions, showing no signs of being pulled or tensioned. You can see the details in the on-site photos.
BG2EWI Using the lamp stand as an antenna support pole was originally intended for temporary use. The guy ropes must be tightened, and they should be taken down immediately during strong winds to prevent them from falling over. If a gust of wind causes it to fall, the supporting rod will certainly break, and the lamp stand and the pole will also suffer varying degrees of damage.
BI7ALG BG2EWI The ends are secured with knots, and the load will only make them tighten further. The main problem is that both the pull rod and the rope are not breaking, but only the base of the barrel has detached on one side. This is the first time I've encountered this issue.
Moonlight BI7ALG As shown in the figure, the red item represents the lamp stand, the green item represents your antenna, and the orange item represents the wind rope. Your rope should be fixed to a single point. If there's strong wind, it could cause the lamp stand to tip over. Additionally, if you are concerned about stability, I recommend placing a monitoring device nearby.
BI7ALG Moonlight The top of the structure has no monitoring system. All four ropes are pulled downwards, and the antenna, lamp post, and feeder cable also have weight. If the base does not detach, causing one side to become unstable, it should be difficult for wind to overturn it. Of course, this could also happen due to a combination of factors, such as the base's insufficient fixing strength leading to overturning in strong gusts of wind.
BI7ALG Liridice On the fourth floor rooftop, there was no surveillance camera. This was the first time I encountered a QBG antenna, and I was quite confused, so I decided to share it here for discussion.
bi3apz It seems that simply relying on the Barren's strength might not be sufficient. However, I wouldn't use the Barren as a point to withstand tensile forces. It's better for electronic and mechanical devices to have their respective functions.
Moonlight I just realized that your wind rope is attached to the handle… This means that when there's wind, all the force is concentrated on the two connection points. Guess why there are a few holes on the bottom of your Baren that allow you to attach a rope?
