The audio quality for recording is not very good, and the decoded SSTV recordings are distorted. Receiving SSTV from the space station is also somewhat usable.
If you really want to use it effectively, you'll still need to connect it to a computer via USB, just like with the full-powered HackRF One.
The H3's features are quite appealing, but the price difference makes it less attractive than buying a complete set of a different, higher-performing device. The HackRF One combined with a small N100 computer would be more than sufficient. The HackRF can be used with an external power source, but according to the seller I bought it from, this device is quite delicate and requires careful handling. I accidentally short-circuited it once, and it immediately burned out a component (even though it wasn't being charged quickly).
