My one also broke, and I recently bought an IC-705. After receiving it, the USB charging port shorted out, and the seller asked me to send it back to Japan for testing, which would take several months. Since this device can still function normally without using USB charging, I don't want to go through all that trouble, plus I have a certain confidence in my own electronic skills, so I always think that replacing a couple of parts will fix it.
