ps: Summary of the progress in setting up a remote station: My home-based shortwave setup (5.6m dipole) is already almost fully utilized, making it difficult to add more DXCC entries. I also haven't been able to get permission from the property management to install an antenna on the roof, and I have had the idea of setting up a remote station for some time now. While I have all the necessary equipment, I lack a suitable location.
On December 10, 2024, after communicating with Mr. BH2SIV and visiting his farm, I discussed the radio environment testing at his farm and inquired about related matters concerning the power and water network. We quickly reached an agreement. Mr. BH2SIV strongly supported my radio station construction and offered to provide me with some space. As a remote radio station, it can also be used as a communication relay station for rescue teams in emergencies.



On December 11th, while I was still considering the details and funding for building the station, Mr. SiV had already finished digging the foundation pit with his friends; the foundation is 1m-1m-1.5m deep.


On December 13th, the insulated shipping container buildings arrived at the base and were placed in their designated areas. Fireworks were set off to celebrate the commencement of construction, and everyone enjoyed a hot pot meal together.


On December 14th, the prefabricated steel cage for the tower foundation arrived on site and was secured with wire. In the afternoon, the concrete mixing truck and the prefabricated pole arrived.



On December 15th, prefabricated concrete blocks, custom-made by a nearby cement plant (to be used as anchor points for the tower's guy ropes), arrived.
In the afternoon of the 15th, the concrete was mixed and poured into the pit. We prepared the gas tank and winter fishing tent, using canned natural gas to insulate the concrete. The insulation will last for one week.


On December 20th, I discussed the installation and precautions for the C19XR Yagi antenna with Mr. BG2QMO and Mr. BG5TOX.
On December 26th, the custom-made 10m aluminum truss arrived. It has a sliding section in the middle and a lifting section of 2m on the sides.

On December 27th, we purchased stainless steel guy ropes and, with the help of BH2WLR and BH2TWN, manufactured stainless steel guy ropes in the afternoon.
On December 29th, with the help of several friends (BH2TWN, BH2WLR), we successfully assembled the tower connection bolts and erected the tower. The base of the tower is a foldable section; one side was raised using a stand, while the other side was pulled upright using a car winch.



In the afternoon of September 29th, the air conditioning cabinets sponsored by BG2KAJ and BI4PXL arrived at the base.



On December 30th, the remote switching and rotary network controller, manufactured by Mr. Ma (BH4TDV), arrived at the base.
On December 31st, the C19XR shortwave Yagi antenna and the Yaesu G1000dx rotator arrived at the base.
On January 4th, the three-band wideband antenna from Cotton arrived and passed all test parameters.


On January 19th, BG2QAX provided a shortwave GP8 antenna.

On March 23rd, a 13m fishing rod was used with an ICOM AH4 automatic antenna tuner, and the IC-7300 radio was temporarily set up at the base for brief operation.


On April 4th, we visited the B7 base in Foshan to learn about the construction details and precautions of the base. Mr. Liang (BA7NQ) warmly welcomed us and purchased a 2.4m parabolic dish and rotating system from Foshan. We conducted EME communication and 10GHz communication tests, and gained further insights into the future development of the Shenyang base.

On April 5th, the "Expedition 8" shortwave GP antenna arrived at the base.
On April 11th, I contacted Mr. SiV and his colleagues to discuss the base's distribution network. That evening, we installed the "Expedition 8" line and began initial operation.



On April 13th, heavy rain caused flooding at the base, damaging vehicles. The base also ordered gravel to level the area.

On July 13th, the WINNO N7500 arrived at the base and used a temporary vehicle with a suction antenna to operate a remote forwarding station at 438.500 MHz, which performed well.



On April 18th, a 13m pole arrived at the base. The SIV instructor cooperated with the excavator to install the pole (used for a three-wire antenna).


On April 18th, the ICOM-7100 donated by BG7XUV arrived at the base.
On April 19th, BH2SOA, BH2XAY, BH2XSF, BH2XPS, and BH2SIV worked together to assemble the C19XR Yagi antenna.


On April 20th, several friends came over to help me install a shortwave Yagi antenna.
First, one person climbs to the top of the tower and uses a manual hoist to lift the antenna to the top. The antenna is then rotated so that it faces towards the house. The side frame, including the top plate, floor, rotator, bearings, and support rods, are installed. After verifying that the rotator operates correctly, the main Yagi beam and support rods are attached near the house. A Renqiu 4m pole is mounted on top. The entire structure is brought to the side of the tower and secured with four bolts on the sliding carriage. Using a pulley, the sliding carriage is slowly raised, and adjustments to the guy wire must be made frequently to prevent interference.
(P.S.: Due to interference from the 15m antenna and the tower structure, first remove this array, then lift it up and install it on top.)



On April 22nd, I ordered 7 concrete and cement strips and prefabricated cement blocks.
On April 26th, the parabolic dish arrived at the base. With the help of BH2TWN, BD2QQ, BH2SOA, BI2QDD, and BH2SIV, we first used a jack to lift the corners of the house, evenly distributing the concrete strips underneath. In the afternoon, we assembled the parabolic dish antenna and ordered the parabolic dish support tower and adapter plate. We then placed the concrete blocks in the prepared pit and installed the parabolic dish antenna.




On April 29th, the Yagi antennas (specifically, the "U12" and "V5" models) and the rotary unit arrived at the base. The U/V array was assembled and tested successfully after power-up.


On the afternoon of the 29th, Mr. SIV went to fabricate fixtures for the UV rotary and cable reel.



On April 30th, a crane was used to move and install the shortwave V750 antenna, move and install the dipole antenna, install the three-band wideband antenna, install the UV rotating array, and dismantle and inspect the shortwave Yagi antenna.




5.1-5.2 Clean up the base and prepare temporary jumper cables for cable replacement.

On May 3rd, a shipment of 50-7 arrived at the base, donated by BI4PXL.
On May 3rd, the directional antenna and signal source borrowed from BD2QQ and BH4OAX arrived at the base.


At 3:00 PM, a crane arrived at the site, and the BH2SIV, BH2TWN, and BH2UUF antennas were delivered to the base. Due to the mismatch between the support rods and main frame clamps of the shortwave Yagi antenna, a transition plate was welded onto the support rod, and screws connected the main frame clamp. The side panels were then raised 2 meters using the crane to reach the top of the tower, with the antennas standing 13 meters above ground.




On May 4th, the Yaesu G5500 rotator donated by BI1TSU arrived at the base.
On May 4th, supplies arrived on site. Our team of volunteers and ham radio operators worked together to set up tents, banners, and the event backdrop.
In the evening, we made dumplings using vegetables grown at the base, eggs and ground meat purchased from the village. Teacher BD2QQ demonstrated his culinary skills, resulting in delicious food with appealing colors, aromas, and flavors.




On May 5th, the event was held as scheduled. In the morning, we introduced the facilities of the base and provided introductory explanations and practical demonstrations for amateur radio satellite communication and Earth-Moon reflection communication.
The friends of the Ping'an Rescue Team gave a presentation on the team's history and past rescue cases, as well as an introduction to the team's equipment. In the afternoon, there was a casual radio direction-finding activity, along with a ham radio group, a beverage area sponsored by BG2WSQ, and a used equipment sales stall for hams, as well as a cable making and selling stall.













From December 10, 2024, to May 15, 2025, a total of 5 months, we successfully established the remote radio station and held 55 events as planned. The establishment of the station was made possible by the significant help and support from numerous enthusiastic HAM and Peace Rescue team members in Shenyang. BH2SIV also provided extensive assistance and support. We are also grateful for the understanding and support of our family. After the 55 events, the station actively collaborated with the rescue teams to conduct NVIS (Non-Directional Vehicle System) communication tests without blind spots, and to practice disaster area communication coverage. Furthermore, the station will also conduct longwave radio communication testing and 10GHz communication testing in the future.
