Rules and procedures for applying for awards in Zone 0-9 of China Air Park
Event introduction
Similar to the IOTA concept, "Parks on the Air" (POTA) aims to encourage contact with amateur radio operators located in parks around the world. Previously, no parks in mainland China or Hong Kong and Macau had participated in this project. However, after relevant coordination, POTA activities have now entered mainland China (including Hong Kong and Macau), and information about participating parks is gradually being updated.
Article 1: Purpose
To encourage amateur radio enthusiasts to venture out of their homes and connect with amateur radio stations in parks and other locations both domestically and internationally, the POTA-BY regional administrator has initiated this program. BH3XZT The proposal is to establish the "China Sky Park Connector 0-9 Zone Award" award, jointly initiated by the China Sky Park Award Management Group.
Article 2: Requirements for application
- The applicant must be a legally established amateur radio station. And in POTA official website Register an account.
- The location where the applicant conducts their POTA activity must be within the physical park area published on the official POTA website, and they must comply with all relevant regulations for the specific park and the local radio management authority.
- The valid communication required for applying for a certificate must occur after October 4, 2023, Beijing time.
- The communication system must comply with all applicable national and local laws and regulations, and cannot be implemented using ground relay stations or the internet.
- To apply for an award, you must submit a photo showing the radio, antenna, and operator.
- For applications for awards, except where specifically stated otherwise, there are no requirements regarding frequency bands or modes.
7. When submitting multiple applications using different call signs, if the operator is the same person, they can be combined into a single call sign for calculation purposes. However, it is not possible to use a collective station call sign.
Article 3: Proof of Connection
The following types of proof of connection can be used to apply for this award:
- Screenshot of the POTA website's log page, the screenshot must include a full view of the webpage, including the username.
- Paper QSL card; when applying, you must provide scanned images of both sides.
- ARRL Logbook of the World (LoTW) confirmation certificate, which requires a screenshot of the QSO details to be provided at the time of application.
The QSL card evidence provided by the applicant must include the following information:
1. Calling frequency
2. This party's call sign
3. Date, month, day, and time
4. Band or frequency
5. Operating mode or method of operation
6. The other party's signal report（RST）
7. If using satellite communication, you will need to specify the name and number of the satellite.
Note: When using amateur satellites, the receiving band should be used as the communication band.
Article 4: Types and Requirements for Awards
Standard award certificate:
- Requirements: To achieve full communication (10 QSOs) within any park with a valid POTA number, successfully activate the park, and conduct two-way QSOs with amateur radio operators in mainland China (0-9 region), along with logging and uploading to the POTA website, obtaining proof of successful communication.
- Time constraint requirement: The first and last contact in an application for this award must be separated by no more than 24 hours (1 UTC day).
Special Award:
- During the POTA contest, all amateur radio stations in the 0-9 zone that participated in the contest and transmitted from the park will receive a special award.
- Special Award Time Limit Requirement: The first and last contact for this award must be separated by no more than one week.
Article 5: Application Method
Enter the POTA amateur radio public channel, click the "Park Entry" button, and go to the award application page while attaching proof of entry.
Article Six: Verification of Authenticity
Applicants must guarantee that the information provided to Tonglian is accurate and verifiable. If necessary, the award administrator may request original proof of Tonglian from the applicant. If the applicant is unable to provide proof of Tonglian as required, the application will be rejected.
If necessary, the award management committee may require applicants to provide evidence that the other radio station is a legally established amateur radio station. If such evidence cannot be provided, the relevant QSOs will not be included in the award.
Applicants who submit false or forged communication information, or fabricate communication proof, will have their applications and previously awarded certificates revoked, and they will be prohibited from applying for certificates again.
Article 7: Certificates of Award
The certificate is A4 size, with a cardstock backing. It includes the certificate name and information, the applicant's name and callsign, the certificate number, issuance date, signature of the certificate administrator, anti-counterfeiting sticker, and embossed seal.
The certificates are available in both electronic and paper formats. For those applying for the electronic certificate, there is no fee. For those applying for the paper certificate, a fee of 20 RMB (including postage) will be charged within mainland China (including Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan). Applicants can choose to send it via registered mail or express delivery at their own expense. Outside mainland China, a fee of 40 RMB (including postage) will be charged, and it will be sent by ordinary post (land or sea).
The electronic certificate does not include anti-counterfeiting stickers and embossed seals.
The certificates are signed by members of the certificate management committee in rotation.
