Every year, from May to October, is the VHF band's communication season in China. To encourage more amateur radio enthusiasts to participate in and enjoy the experience of remote communications, and to commemorate the Chinese Amateur Radio Day (also known as "Wǔ Wǔ Jié"), the Zhejiang Province Amateur Radio Association will hold the "First Zhejiang Province VHF Long-Distance Communication Competition" from May 4th to May 5th.
We welcome amateur radio enthusiasts from across the province to actively participate. Through practical experience, gain knowledge and understanding; through mutual learning, build friendships; and through surprises, enjoy the fun.
I. Event Time:
From 0:00 on May 4, 2025, to 24:00 on May 5, 2025.
II. Participants:
1. Individual station. 2. Collective station (schools or associations/clubs within the province that have unit radio call signs). 3. We sincerely invite enthusiasts from neighboring provinces and cities to participate together.
III. Target bands and communication objects to be used:
1, 2-meter band (144-146 MHz)
2、6-meter band (50-54 MHz)
3. Participants: All amateur radio stations, but only if the other party provides Maidenhead grid location information will a valid competition connection be established.
IV. Competition Format:
1. Modes: CW, USB, and FM
2、 Signal report + Six-digit Maidenhead grid location

3. Grouping: CW group, PH group (SSB and FM), mixed group（CW+PH）
4. Please use the output power in accordance with the license.
V. Competition Rules:
1. Radio stations in Zhejiang Province and surrounding areas with advantageous conditions can apply to serve as central stations. Central stations are the core stations during the competition, and should respond to calls from all other stations whenever possible.
2. Please submit your grades using electronic logs in .Log format.
3. Considering the characteristics of VHF, establish common frequencies for each mode (competition is not limited to the following frequencies, but it is recommended to set them near public frequencies to facilitate QSOs):
2-meter segment:
CW 144.080 MHz
SSB at 144.120 MHz
FM at 145.100 MHz
6-meter segment:
CW at 50.080 MHz
SSB at 50.120 MHz
52.100 MHz FM
Please note that after establishing initial contact with the default DX frequency and friendly stations as described above, if you discover any new activity, you should promptly switch to a different frequency.（QSY）Complete the remaining information exchange.
4. Please follow the principles of amateur radio when selecting frequencies for each communication mode: CW should use low frequencies, USB should use mid-frequencies, and FM should use high frequencies. The 2-meter band is not required to adhere to these guidelines, but it should avoid satellite/EME and ground repeater frequencies.
5. Teams requiring outdoor platforms should try to set up their activities in sparsely populated areas, such as high mountains or locations with better electromagnetic environments. When using outdoor platforms, please pay attention to personal safety. Team members should take appropriate precautions and protect the environment while participating in the activity.

Six. Scoring Rules:
1. The signal report for the competition table requires exchanging six-digit Maidenhead grid addresses (grid address lookup).
2. The 2-meter and 6-meter distances are scored separately according to their respective scoring rules.
3. SSB and FM modes communicating on the same frequency band with the same radio station are counted only once, while CW mode is counted separately.
4, Calculate the score based on communication distance (km/km/score): 1/16/1; 16.1/32/3; 32.1/64/5; 64.1/128/10; 128.1/256/20; 256.1/512/30; 512.1/1024/40; 1024.1/20000/605. Communication using repeaters is not scored.

VII. Rewards:
1. Individuals and collective amateur radio stations that submit their traffic logs within the specified time will be eligible to receive a competition certificate (electronic certificate) and participate in the ranking, with medals awarded to the top three participants. The results of the competition will be announced on the WeChat official account.
VIII. Regarding Registration:
1. We recommend that radio stations register and publicize their participation in the event in advance to increase their chances of success. The registration period is from today until May 1st. Before the competition, station information will be published on the provincial association's WeChat official account.
