I'm just writing this for fun, so if anything is missing, please add it.
GEO-KOMPSAT-2A is a geostationary weather satellite, which differs from the NOAA series of low Earth orbit satellites.(LEO)The satellite images transmitted by GK2A are complete Earth disk maps.

(The image shows the processed image with color applied.)
Let's take a look at the original image.

(Is it completely lifeless?)
Because this is the original, monochrome image from the IR channel, consisting of just a black and white cloud map, it's definitely suitable. Satellites also need to conserve resources, so the images acquired through remote sensing are not color-processed on the satellite itself. Instead, they are typically processed for color by ground stations, which facilitates post-processing and data analysis.
Now that we've covered all of that, let's talk about how to use your SDR to receive images from weather satellites in geostationary orbit.
Preparation
Device/Receiver: RTL-SDR 2832U
Antenna: 2.4 GHz grid antenna (due to its widespread use in long-range Wi-Fi transmission, it can be easily found on Taobao)

Additionally, you will also need a computer running Windows/Linux (for data processing).
Due to the weak signal from the synchronous orbit satellite, a pre-amplifier is required.(LNA)Amplify the received signal

This item is fragile (especially susceptible to damage from static electricity), so it's a good idea to buy several extra for backup.
Software
Download satdump (a general satellite data processing software) from the internet, and prepare the RTL-SDR drivers (if already installed, please ignore).
The package doesn't include any color processing tools; I will write a script later and add it.

Important notes
The antenna requires some minor modifications (the iron plate on the feed needs to be reversed).

As shown in the figure.

Additionally, a few adapters are also needed.
The antenna end has an N connector; it requires an N to SMA adapter (minimize the number of adapters used).

Skipping lines can also introduce external noise and losses.
The cables extending from the antenna are relatively short, so a USB extension cable is needed to avoid damaging the USB port.
