UV380, because whether you have GPS or not, it can be easily installed or modified. The UV390 version without GPS is best to avoid, as it lacks many parts and can only be used with an external module. If you find a cheap 390 with GPS, it's better to buy that version, as its larger capacity version supports direct charging via USB. The 380's larger capacity version does not have this feature. All of the above are based on non-DIY or light DIY. If you have strong hands-on skills, you can also install GPS yourself (1701). After all, it's just tinkering around. Personally, I prefer the appearance of the 380.
