As everyone knows, the easiest and fastest way for amateur radio enthusiasts to get started with DX (long-distance communication) on the 6-meter band ismagic-bandOf course, if you are living in the IO-117 era or within the QO-100 coverage area, then this discussion is not relevant to you.
The grid I'm in is OM89, which already represents a high level of latitude for VHF DX. Furthermore, OM89 is not located near the coast, which further disadvantages VHF DX operations in that area.
However, what's truly astonishing is that today...(2025-03-23)Around 6 PM, a strong signal from 50.313 appeared, along with the following repeated transmissions:

Upon observing the PSK information, I found that six radio stations, including those in South Africa and Mauritius, provided good spots.

This typical nighttime long-distance TEP propagation lasted for over two hours, followed by the gradual appearance of several DXCC stations in the Indian Ocean. Most of the stations in OM89 and surrounding grids were successfully connected to AF, which was previously unimaginable!
Finally, VHF DX can be full of surprises.Nothing is impossible.
P.S.: Last autumn, OM89 also successfully completed several QSOs using SA/NA frequencies, and once even maintained contact for over three hours on the EU frequency.
