The dual-slot mode of DMR requires rapid switching between transmit and receive states, but the RF chips commonly used in hotspots are primarily designed for low-power IoT devices. Therefore, it is not possible to switch within the time required by DMR.
Meanwhile, the dual-channel board uses two chips to receive and transmit at different frequencies, with a single microcontroller synchronizing the timing of the two chips. This approach avoids this flaw and enables dual-slot mode.
The difference between dual-mode and single-mode is simply that the dual-mode version has an additional DMR dual-slot feature, but otherwise they are identical.
