[未知用户] I actually have both the XieGu G106C and G90N, and I bought the G106C primarily because of its compact size and the excellent display quality. However, I mainly use it to listen to FM radio (again, the speaker quality is poor; I prefer using headphones), and this device is very affordable. You should be able to find one for around 1200 yuan/RMB, which I think is a reasonable price to pay.
Secondly, regarding the VNA and antenna tuner you mentioned, if you're using a simple dipole, it should resonate naturally in four bands when extended to around 20 meters, so an antenna tuner isn't necessary. With a GP antenna, a 5.4-meter boom, and the thinnest part of the boom not extending, it can also resonate at 14 MHz without needing an antenna tuner. As for the VNA itself, whether or not you buy one doesn't have a significant impact. The G90 has the advantage of having a color screen, of course with a spectrum analyzer built-in, but it's heavier and less portable than the G106C. However, it includes a relatively powerful antenna tuner and basic VSWR (Voltage Standing Wave Ratio) testing functionality, typically priced around 2300 RMB. If your budget is very limited, you can start with the G106C. If you have enough budget, consider buying both to experiment with. Once you're done, you can sell them.
The cheapest shortwave radio I could find that supports basic standing wave operation was around 200 yuan, and it also included a tuning knob. The model number was likely AT-100. I bought the parts myself and built one without a case, which cost about 90 yuan.
