I'm a new ham radio operator, and my current focus is primarily on listening to and participating in repeater communications. I also actively participate in local repeater emergency communication drills. Recently, while using the well-known 438.500 MHz direct mode CQ call, I didn't receive any responses from other stations, but I clearly heard my own complete CQ call with a signal strength of 59. 🤣
I hadn't observed this phenomenon before. I haven't heard anyone communicating on that frequency, nor have I detected any other unusual signals while monitoring it quietly. Why would someone be doing this?
