The first antenna I made was this one, and then I used a section of PVC pipe and a PVC end cap. I attached the M-connector to the end cap, and inserted the antenna into the PVC pipe for long-term outdoor mounting. After inserting it into the PVC pipe, the resonant frequency needs to be lowered and fine-tuned.
