First, I understand that using a power meter is more accurate and safer for measuring power. However, I still want to learn about the technical characteristics of the TinySA in this area so that I have a general understanding of its capabilities and limitations.
The low-port testing results for the V-band transmit power were generally accurate, but the error was very large when using the high-port. The handheld transmitter output approximately 30 dBm. When a 30 dB attenuator is connected to the TinySA, the measured values at a single frequency and a 4 MHz range are 23 dBm and 6 dBm (these are absolute values because the external attenuator offset has been set internally).
The seller stated that the high-end TinySA has relatively small errors below -20dBm in power. Has anyone used it before? Do you find this statement reasonable? What experience and suggestions do you have regarding this aspect? Can I connect another attenuator? Will connecting one make the absolute power too low, making it undetectable?
Additionally, the TinySA website states: "Optional 25dB to 40dB frequency-dependent input attenuator. The power level error with this attenuator activated increases to +/- 10dB." Who can explain what "optional" refers to in this context? Which attenuator is being referred to by "Optional"? And where does the range of "25dB to 40dB" come from? What are the specific practical implications of this statement for actual use?
