Frequently Asked Questions about DroidStar
1. Newly registered IDs need to wait 24-48 hours before being written into the DroidStar DMRIDs.DAT data file. After updating this file, you can use it in DroidStar, but be patient (it may take up to half an hour) and wait for the DMRIDs.dat file to download completely (check the log). If you enter the correct call sign and ID, you should not receive an "Invalid DMR ID" error.
2. If a single "Connect" automatically disconnects and there are no prompts, it means the password is incorrect. Note: The password refers to the "Hotspot Security" password set specifically within the "Selfcare" section of the bm website, not the login password for the bm website.
3. If the connection function works but you can't hear anything, it means the audio codec hasn't been downloaded.

If the error persists, after uninstalling, go to http://www.dudetronics.com/ to download the software, select DroidStar APK and click "Download," then reinstall the software on your phone.
4. If you only see other people's IDs and not your own call sign during normal use, this is usually because the other person has recently registered a new ID. This is because the DMRIDs.dat file on our phones did not contain data corresponding to this new ID and its call sign before. Once you update the ID file, the problem will be resolved.
5. If it continuously displays "Connecting," then there is likely a problem with your network or server.
6. If you need to press the transmit button to hear the communication voice in DMR mode, setting your frequently used groups as static groups will resolve this issue.
7. Why does it display the callsign of another person instead of my own? If you haven't registered a dmrid and are using an Yaesu radio in YSF mode, it will display the callsign of the YSF reflector creator instead of your own callsign; or if you enter someone else's callsign (and ID) in a non-dmr mode on an Yaesu radio that doesn't require Hotspot Security password.
8. If you are already connected but haven't received any voice communication or cannot transmit, but the device still shows as online, possible reasons include a network disconnection or reconnection; for example, if you are using a version like the droidstar DMR with rich features released by vu3lvo in India, it may be that your phone hasn't properly configured droidstar to run in the background. When the app is brought back to the foreground, it may actually be disconnected but still show as online. The solution is to manually disconnect and reconnect; for versions that can run in the background, you need to enable droidstar to run in the background on your phone (specific settings vary depending on your phone model). You can search online for "how to set up an app to run in the background on this phone."
