July 28, 2023, marks the 47th anniversary of the Tangshan earthquake. On that day, representatives from the Hebei Province Tangshan Radio Supervision and Enforcement Bureau, the Seventy-No. Primary School in the Lu North District of Tangshan, amateur radio enthusiasts, and others participated in a radio science popularization and publicity event at the Tangshan Earthquake Memorial Park, with the theme "Promoting the Spirit of Disaster Relief and Mobilizing Vast Power for the Times." The purpose was to comprehensively disseminate knowledge about earthquake prevention and disaster reduction, and to enhance public awareness and ability to self-rescue and mutual assistance in emergencies. (Reports on this event were published by China News Network, Hebei Daily, Ji Yun Client, Tangshan Labor Daily, and Tangshan Lu North Voice, as well as companies such as Haeneda and Quan Sheng Radio, in various media. The reports are listed below, without a specific order.)

The activities included several topics, including amateur satellite communication, explaining related knowledge about satellite communication, quick installation of shortwave antennas, installation and testing of ultra-shortwave antennas, popularization of shortwave and ultra-shortwave communication, and the role and methods of creating QSL cards.

It is worth noting that this event attracted a large number of high school, university, and postgraduate amateur radio enthusiasts. Specifically, "Using handheld radios and eight-element antennas to communicate with the International Space Station's amateur satellite repeater" was the first time in recent years that Tangshan City had organized a live, real-time satellite communication activity on such a large scale. The three participants – BH2VQY (a high school student from Dalian, Liaoning), B3/BI4PCJ (an amateur radio enthusiast from Qiping District, Tangshan City), and BG3RQT (a university student amateur radio enthusiast) – coordinated their handheld radios to successfully complete this communication activity. After the satellite communication session, BH2VQY from Dalian gave a presentation on related knowledge. This coincided with the issuance of operating licenses and call signs to new enthusiasts in Hebei Province, providing them with a wider platform and development direction beyond local UV relay stations and direct-mode communication.

Regarding the videos for other subjects on that day, they are still in the process of editing and production due to work constraints. Please look forward to them and follow Bilibili and other mobile short video platforms. Search for BI3PIE.
Due to the summer holiday, a group of 95-year-old amateur radio enthusiasts with a license (including operating permit) from Tangshan accounted for 45% of participants in this event. In the figure below, besides myself and the two non-actors who were responsible for taking photos and videos (both born in 1998), all the other participants are amateur radio enthusiasts born in 2000.
