I built a Yagi antenna, and when I tested it, I was surprised to find that the VSWR in the UV band was below 3 across both 410 MHz and 450 MHz. This made it only usable with difficulty.
So, I tried to contact satellites, and the sound was barely audible, but I couldn't get a response on the frequency. I also tried contacting them directly, but after transmitting for a while, no one responded. Therefore, I suspect that the problem might be with my equipment.
The K5 I'm currently using has a maximum output of only 5W, and I can't afford a good Yagi antenna. What are some ways I can get it to work?I can't afford a 1999UV dual-stage amplifier online.
