Windows tablets are a bit niche, with limited choices. From my perspective, there are essentially three main categories:
- High-end phones: Microsoft and Huawei – their advantages are that they are robust and durable, but their disadvantage is that they are too expensive.
- Low-end devices: These are low-cost brands, formerly known as "Zhai Boards," represented by companies like Tai Chi, Chi Wei, and Cool Bee Cube. They run Windows + Android dual systems and were primarily sold to foreigners, so they weren't very well-known domestically. I bought one about ten years ago for around 1000 yuan (RMB), with an Intel processor. The biggest problem was overheating, which eventually caused the power supply to burn out. Over the years, the quality should have improved significantly, but the prices have also increased.
- Xiaomi Pad 5 (Recommended): The best value for money, affordable and durable. ARM processor, doesn't overheat. Disadvantage: No official support, requires self-maintenance.Find tutorials on how to bypass security and flash ROMs.Fortunately, compatibility is now almost perfect. Note that only the Xiaomi Pad 5 can be flashed; the 5 Pro, 4, or 6, or other versions cannot be flashed and will not work properly after flashing.
Regarding processors, Intel and AMD tablets tend to overheat easily, especially cheaper models. ARM processors don't have this issue. While some claim that ARM has compatibility and performance issues, this depends on what you intend to do. For everyday tasks like browsing the internet, using Office applications, or playing Galgames, ARM is perfectly fine. If you're trying to use it for demanding tasks like writing code for Motorola Hytera or running games like "Black Myth: Wukong," then the compatibility issues are understandable.
