BD8CJS

Besides Tonglian, what else should beginners do?

BD8CJS

bi3vrr Apologies, I forgot to include the call signs for this activity in the previous post. The call signs for the BY area are: "BY1RX/BY2AA/BA3RA/BY4DX/BY5HB/BY6SX/BA7CK/BY8GA/BG9MM/BY0AB". You can use a wide-ranging call, such as "CQ WWA BY8GA", to try and connect. Once you receive the signal on the frequency, you can track it.

BG4IDK

@BD8CJS I just checked the official website, but I'm not quite understanding how the comparison works. Could you please provide a more detailed explanation?

NanLu

BH7HQT

BD8CJS Hello, friend. Are there any specific frequencies that are required?

BG5ELQ

BD8CJS Is CQ WWA BY8GA a general call, or is it specific?

BI4IUI

BG5ELQ It seems you haven't participated in international competitions. During the competition, it's always CQ TEST BG8XX. You can understand this as CQ WWA THIS IS BY8GA. During the competition, "THIS IS" is omitted. This is a widespread call initiated by BY8GA, where they specify their own call sign, not a designated call sign for BY8GA.

Only a month left until the New Year, and the chimes are about to ring. I wish all new and old ham radio operators a happy and successful year, with constant communication across long distances. Wishing you continuous connectivity every day, with perfect signal strength (5/9/9). Looking forward to hearing from you on the air, 73 TU E E

Thank you for explaining.

How can a Class A license holder participate in such an event?

Liridice

I'm sorry, this activity requires shortwave communication.

BG2EFX

Need to pass the B exam.

BG2EFX

I need to pass the B exam.

There is no fixed frequency; the data mode typically uses the frequencies of standard FT8 or FT4. SSB and CW are within the designated amateur radio bands, so you just need to respond. The operator will record and upload in real-time. You can go to the QRZ website to find the page link for connecting with other stations, where you can see if your connection was successful and view a list of previously connected activity stations. Whether or not you keep a log is entirely up to you; you don't need to upload it.

BH7JUO

It's essentially a mainstream approach where anyone who participates receives an award.

I was just passing by.
