Recently, I updated the firmware of my 878UVII PLUS from version 3.03 to 3.04, primarily to test out the satellite prediction feature.
However, testing revealed a problem: the predictions of the 878UV II for ISS were significantly different from those provided by the mobile app, with discrepancies in both time and angle.
The results from the two apps (Heav and DTrac) on my phone were consistent, which aligns with the actual situation.
I have a handheld radio with GD77 firmware installed, and the results I obtained match those from the mobile app.
However, after checking other satellite predictions, such as those for SO-50, I found that they were consistent with the phone's readings.
Therefore, I would like to ask all of you teachers:
1. Regarding the ISS prediction results, have any of you teachers encountered any issues? Are there any further settings that need to be configured? How can these issues be resolved?
2、 The predicted time displayed on the 878UVII unit is in UTC, not local time. Is there a way to change this?
