BG4KHT Before the event, some WeChat accounts will post notifications, including the start and end times and launch frequency. Of course, if you have time to check the official website, that would also work.

I saw on Xiaohongshu that some people were able to receive SSTV signals using the original QuanSheng antennas, but the reception quality wasn't very good (just passable). Does the location and orientation of the antenna also affect the reception?

BD7PXV The UVK5 received a single image, and the results were not very good; however, its convenience was a major advantage.
I haven't studied the satellite orbits in detail, but it seems like they complete a full circle roughly every half hour, with slight variations between each orbit, which should provide a wide coverage area.
